Differentstrokes is situated right on the edge of Portaferry village; only 10 minutes walk will take you to the shore front and market square with local shops, cafes and pubs. The property has recently been refurbished and decorated to a very high standard and the welcome is warm and friendly.

The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens, with lots of little nooks to sit and relax and listen to the birds. There is a French Boules Piste in the grounds if you fancy a bit of fun after breakfast, or when you return from a day’s sightseeing.

To complete the feel good factor, why not treat yourself to a massage or other relaxing therapy, as the proprietor is a trained holistic therapist.

The accommodation consists of one double room and one twin room with guest bed, travel cot and high chair available on request.

The private guest shower room and toilet are adjacent and robes are supplied. Room facilities include hairdryer, toiletries, TV, internet access, tea and coffee making facilities. At breakfast you can have fruit juice and cereal, followed by a full Different Strokes cooked breakfast, with local organic produce when available. Or you can opt for warm baked rolls, fruit, cheese and yoghurt. Please ask in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

It is the home of Exploris - Northern Ireland’s only aquarium.

A short drive away along the scenic lough shore are National Trust properties Mount Stewart and Castle Ward. Take the ferry across to Strangford and explore the surrounding area.
